Parent Information Just as children learn to walk and talk at different rates, they will progress in swimming at their own pace. Please do not compare the progress of your child to that of other children. Praise even the smallest accomplishments. Let your children know you are proud of them!
Equipment needed:

  • Goggles (anti-fog, anti-leak)
  • 2 towels
  • Ear drops

  • Huggie’s Little Swimmer pants (or comparable swim pant) for babies and young children not 100% potty trained
Session and Class Policies:
  • There is a $35 annual Registration Fee per family.
  • The Registration Fee and 1st Session’s tuition are due at the time of booking.
  • All tuition is paid in advance.
  • All students must first complete one session of BASICS (Beginners All Start in Core Skills)
  • Students who have successfully completed BASICS may then enroll in an Everyday or Maintenance class
  • No classes are scheduled on Friday to allow for makeup lessons due to holidays, instructor illness, etc.
  • Tuition will not be pro-rated unless entering the program after a session begins.
  • Parents of new students MUST attend an Orientation Session before the child's first lesson.
Fee Policies:
  • All tuition sales are final. We do not offer tuition refunds, only in house credit when deemed appropriate.
  • Swimming Stages issues a $20 referral fee per swimmer when families refer new students to our program. Referring family must be named on the new student’s registration documents. This is our way of saying thank you for your continual support and referrals. Referral credits may be used toward a student’s tuition, not merchandise.
  • A driver’s license number is required for check acceptance. Pre-signed checks (company or personal) will not be accepted without the driver’s license number of the check writer. There is a $30 fee for ANY returned checks.
  • Schedule changes are limited to 1 change per session. There will be a $20 charge per change for schedule changes in excess of one. Please make schedule changes as soon as possible.
  • Every student has a reserved class time. Make sure you have booked a class time that fits your schedule. Please understand the instructor is there to teach, even if you do not show.
  • In the event a class needs to be cancelled due to teacher illness, pool conditions or mechanics, or an act of nature, we will make every effort to contact you prior to your class time.
  • Please notify us of ANY address or phone number changes.
  • Credit will not be given for pool closures. We will be happy to schedule Bonus Lessons (no charge make-up lessons). Bonus Lessons must be used within the calendar year of the closure. The student does not have to be enrolled the session the Bonus Lesson is scheduled.
  • If an instructor is unavailable, we DO NOT notify students when there is a substitute teaching a class. If a substitute teaches a class, we do not offer make- up lessons.
  • We strive to maintain instructor consistency for our students. However, there are times that instructors are ill, have extended leave of absences, resign, have conflicting school schedules or other personal situations that create the need to replace an instructor. These situations are beyond our control. We will do everything possible for a smooth transition if there is an instructor change.
Health and Safety Policies:
  • Fecal contamination or vomit in or around a pool poses a serious health risk to all using the facility. When an accident occurs, we are forced to shut down operations for a period of time to properly clean and sanitize our facility. Our goal is to reduce the spread of disease and inconvenience to swimmers whose lessons are cancelled. For the health and safety of our swimmers and instructors, please adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Children who are not 100% potty trained must wear Huggie’s Little Swimmer pants (or comparable swim pant) under their swimsuits. (Our definition of potty trained is: A child who has the capacity to know when they need to use the restroom and will ask to go to the bathroom.) Parents are expected to dispose of soiled Huggies in the proper containers.
  • Parents will not bring a child to swim class if the child is experiencing intestinal distress (diarrhea or vomiting).
  • In the event a child has an accident, is potty trained, did not ask to use the restroom and is not wearing a Huggie’s Little Swimmer, or is known to be ill prior to class, Swimming Stages reserves the right to charge client for cleaning and lost revenue due to closure from contamination.
  • In the event a child has a contamination accident while wearing a Huggie’s Little Swimmer under their swimsuit, he/she will be required to wear plastic pants over their Huggie’s Little Swimmer in the future.
  • If a potty-trained child has an accident and fails to communicate the need to use the restroom, they will be required to wear a swim pant under their swimsuit until suitable communication is established
Student Policies:
  • Please don’t enter the pool without your instructor in the water.
  • Parents and caregivers undertaking Swim with Me classes should not enter the pool until your instructor is ready to begin class.
  • Parents who are not in the water with their children are required to wait in the waiting/viewing area.
  • Changing rooms are provided in the pool area to dress and redress after class. Please do not dress children in any other area of the facility. Please have your children dressed and ready for swim instruction for the start of their scheduled lesson time.
  • Hair needs to be kept out of swimmer’s faces. Long hair needs to be covered in a swim cap. Please do not use bobby pins to secure hair.
  • NO FOOD PERMITTED IN THE POOL AREA!
  • Swimmers should not enter pool with food or gum in their mouths.
  • Remove all bandages. If a wound is open and bleeding, others will be at risk due to blood-borne pathogens. Please be considerate and use discretion with wounds that have not scabbed over.
  • If student has a fever or a contagious disease, please stay home until the illness has resolved. If you are unsure, consult your doctor for the proper course of action.
  • Huggie’s Little Swimmer pants (or comparable pant) must be worn by all children not 100% potty trained. Please continue the use of Little Swimmer Pants (or comparable pant) during the training process. Even if a suit has a swim diaper built in, children must wear another form of protection. Please put on a clean Little Swimmer prior to getting into the pool.
  • All swimmers must wear swimsuits.
  • Potty-trained children should use the restroom before their class is scheduled to begin.
  • Swimmers may wear goggles during class, however, the goggles are to remain on their eyes the entire lesson. It is not the instructor’s job to do the adjustments. We recommend goggles that are anti-fog, one-piece construction with a split strap. Please adjust the size and test for leaks before class. Snorkeling masks are not permitted.
  • Classes are grouped as closely as possible, according to age and ability.
